The Cesnik campaign is poised to win! With the September 13 Primary Election fast approaching, more and more District 5 residents are getting ready to cast their ballots for Eric. Out on the streets, our volunteer- powered campaign has the energy, excitement, and a shared dedication to progressive ideals that will bring Eric Cesnik to City Hall!
Join us at Molly Pitcher's located at 1641 Second Avenue (85th and 2nd) at 8pm for the election night celebration!
Here’s why District 5 voters are supporting our campaign:
- Eric stands up for basic Democratic principles like education and affordable housing. Eric is the one candidate speaking out about the fact that the city council let us down by repeatedly approving the mayor’s tax rebate scheme. Allowing Bloomberg to take a page right out of George W. Bush’s playbook and send checks out to taxpayers, the city council (controlled by Democrats no less!) failed to protect critical social services like our public schools. Eric will stand up for increasing teacher salaries and building more classrooms.
- Eric does not hesitate to take an unpopular stand when it is a matter of principle. Eric won’t ditch his progressive principles when the political heat is on. For example, while Eric’s primary rivals are playing on the politics of fear when it comes to the proposed reopening of the marine transfer station across the FDR at East 91st Street, Eric is providing leadership by talking about the issue openly and honestly. - Eric works to bring more people into the political process. By teaming up with his fellow New Yorkers, Eric is running a campaign of inclusion and participation. He will do the same as a council member. Eric will hold neighborhood meetings in the district a couple times a month to discuss important issues – from our public schools to dog parks to bus stop shelters to the Second Avenue Subway. Eric will use email, snail mail, fliers, an interactive website, and neighborhood block captains to keep voters informed and empowered.
We need your help to continue showing the establishment candidates what democracy is all about. Please join Citizens for Cesnik 2005 and help Eric get his message to District 5 voters. It’s easy: just call (212) 722-8055 or email info@cesnik2005.com. |
